File Linking Anomaly

There have been a few cases where tapping on the remote drive icon during a File Linking session between PalmConnect and the PDA Z-7000 gives the anomalous error "Target drive had been moved or does not exist", and no linking can be performed. There is no risk to data on either machine.

The condition usually begins on the PDA. Once the connection is established between the PDA and the PC, the user taps on the "PC-C" icon in the drives window on the PDA to display the directories on the C: drive of the PC. An alert box with the error "Target drive had been moved or does not exist" appears. Attempting to do the file copy from the PC will yield the same result.

To fix this problem, you must break the connection between the two machines by:

• Tap or click the connection icon (the button with the picture of the serial connectors), then, on the PDA,
• Tap on the CONNECT menu item at the top of the PDA screen and choose File TRANSFER.
• Once in File Transfer mode, abort out by pressing either the "A" or "B" button on the PDA. Wait for the machine to recover.

You should now be able to reconnect and link files successfully.
