Rescan after Linking

After File Linking from the PDA to the PC using PalmConnect you may not see the copied files on your PC desktop until you Rescan Drives.

If you have the Document folder displayed on the File Manager of PalmConnect on your PC and File Link from the PDA to the PC, typically by using File-Copy from the PDA File Manager to copy files over to the PC, you will not automatically see changes on the PC display of the PalmConn Document folder. Even if you click the mouse on the Document icon at the bottom of the PalmConnect screen any changes will not appear, since this button is not designed to rescan the folder. It simply redisplays the information found during the most recent scan of the folder.

In order to see any changes made, you must do one of the following:

• Either switch folders, for example, to the PalmConn World folder by clicking the mouse on the World icon, or
• Click on the Utilities menu at the top of the PalmConnect screen and choosing Rescan Drives.

You may do this while File Linking is in progress to evaluate the linking process.
