Very strong symptoms of bad memory or motherboard there. I've never heard
of Geos detecting it -- usually the way to detect it is to run 6 or 7 gcc
compiles (that's compiles OF gcc using gcc) at the same time.
Most test programs won't detect errors like that for a LONG time (although
if even Geos sets it off it might be really bad), but you should probably
try. Of course, you could also install Linux and attempt the
above-mentioned test :). Just start gcc compiles until you get some
swapping (use one of the tools to make sure).
For a fix, check that all your connections are tight. Then trade the memory
in. After that it's most likely the motherboard, but I don't know enough...
I always plug the connections in backwards myself (EVERY SINGLE TIME, you
hear? Hard drives, floppy drives, even the motherboard power supply!).
