Have you ever looked at the code needed to generate even a simple dialog box
in Windows? THAT's a nightmare. GOC isn't that bad. Without an SDK (or any
docs on it) I've been able to understand most of Nate Fiedler's Text Editor
code. While it does take a while to get used to seeing a million things like
MSG_VIS_TEXT_SET_POINT_SIZE and HINT_ALIGN_CHILDREN_HORIZONTALLY, they make
a lot more sense than the Windows equililants. I would have to complain
about the memory allocation though. I've always complained about DOS not
liking allocation >64k, but GEOS not liking >6k? That's rediculous. But,
there's always a way around everything.
