I had posted a message a while ago requesting opinions about HP's
express exchange program. My new OG arrived today. It was brand new
with a fresh set of batteries. One nice thing with it is that it now
seems to have a matte finish screen, that has more "feel" to it. The
old one had a smooth, glossy screen.
I still do not know what was wrong with the old one. They just
summarily offered to replace it when I asked them why it had crashed a
few times. Well, who am I to complain? I got a brand new OG.
I wonder how long HP will keep offering new units for replacement?
Eventually they will have to recycle the units that are returned back
to the customers probably via replacements. And then, the express
exchange will not be such a welcome option.
I strongly suggest that if you have any problems with the OG give HP a
call. They will probably replace your unit with a new one. I don't
know what their criteria are but it doesn't do harm to try. They pay
shipping both ways.
