It's possible to buy dummy AA size batteries (for use in certain battery
rechargers) which just contain wire between the +ve and -ve terminals. One
of these could be easily modified to act as an external power input for an
Omnigo (combined with another dummy battery). It wouldn't be hugely convenient
since using it would require battery removal but it's safer than ripping the
Omnigo apart to solder extra power inputs on! The dummy batteries are
available from Maplin electronics in the UK for about 70p each.
Alternatively, does anyone know if it's possible to supply power via the
PCMCIA port (which presumably has power supply pins on it to drive the card)?
If it is then a combined memory/modem/power input card would be a superb
add on for the Omnigo.
