A while back I wrote to the list concerning battery life. In my posting I
mentioned that I had sent my Omnigo to Portasoft, who do support on behalf
of HP in the Netherlands. After a lot of negotiation we agreed that they would
send me a replacement unit for my ravenous Omnigo, instead of "repairing"
it. This morning I received the unit: it turned out to be one they had "lying
around" and was older (serial number!) than my previous omnigo. Moreover,
something was wrong with the screen: the layer on top of the screen had come
loose. I phoned Portasoft. It turns out that now I have to do the entire
procedure all over again: send Omnigo, wait for delivery of a new one. Also it
turned out that some of the staff there didn't even know what an Omnigo is
(The foil's loose "no, there isn't any protective foil" "yes there is" etc.) I must
say I'm very disappointed, as there seems to be no way of talking to HP direct
(or Mr. HP as one of the sales staff put it - this sounds even funnier in Dutch)
Right now I wish I hadn't bought an Omnigo, which is a shame, because I like
it a lot, but out of 8 weeks of ownership I have been able to use it for only 4.
Are there Dutch Omnigo users who have similar (or altogether different)
experiences with Portasoft/HP?
Please let me know.
