modems

Well, I was so happy when I got it to work, but now my PCMCIA modem won't
work. I get NO DIALTONE consistently. I've checked the phone line, it's
good. I tried wiggling the wires to make sure they're connected. I
tried rebooting different ways (card in, card out, etc.).
No luck. Anybody got any ideas?
