One runs omniprn on the pc, specifying the com port and baud rate used
to connect to the omnigo. Then, when using the 'print' command on
the omnigo (usually in an apps Menu), omniprn grabs the stuff being
'printed' over the serial line and sends it on to the real printer
connected to the PC. (It is also possible to have omniprn save the
'printed' data in a file and later copy this file to the real printer
note that the 'printed' data is probably not ascii data, but is PCL3 or
some other printer language).
I've used omniprn, and find it useful - but I find that with any
sizeable printout it seems to get confused after a few thousand
characters, e.g. the top half of spreadsheets look OK then I start to
get raw PCL on the paper. Has anyone else had a similar experience?
(I usually run omniprn from a Win3.1 dos box, but I do get the same
problem if the machine is running P.O.D. (plain old dos). Baud rate is
9600.
