I have had this before with the notepad and one
of my spreadsheets. This means that your appointment data
file is corrupted. I haven't found a way to get at the data so the
only way was to restore a backup from an old backup set.

This won't help since the data file itself is corrupted.

The appointment book will work after erasing memory since it creates
a new data file. Unfortunately it looks like your backup data file is also
corrupted :-(

Ouch, that hurts :-(
I backup to SRAM once a day and from SRAM to PC about once a week and
keep my last 4 backups on the PC.
Call me paranoid, but I have had more crashes with GEOS on the OGO in less
than 3 months than I had with a 200LX in 1.5 years of usage. I never once
lost data
on the 200LX. Then again I am/was doing stuff on the OGO which HP most
probably
doesn't recommend.

Sorry, the only solution I know of is to use an older backup which you
don't
seem to have :-(

Good idea.
