Ack! My Omnigo died!

Yesterday my Omnigo, only a week old, bit it. I had been having problems
getting it to turn on. There were no warnings about battery life and the
battery indicator never got below about 90%. Finally, though, I switched
the batteries with others and got the thing to at least turn on. I lost my
data but had it backed up on my PC. I got the pen-calibration screen and
was able to calibrate it, but after that, the pen just wouldn't work - it
wouldn't recognize anywhere I clicked it. When I used the keyboard to go
into setup and select pen calibration, I got a coffee cup in the middle of
my screen and that was it. It would just stay there. The only thing I
could do was a reset, but after getting the HP screen, the display went
black, then I got that coffee cup icon in the middle of the screen again.
It would sit there forever - or until the batteries died, anyway... I tried
everything. Taking the batteries out for several minutes (both main and
backup), doing soft resets, hard resets, clearing it to factory settings,
etc. Nothing worked. I went through all of this with HP support again and
they said the model was defective. I had bought it at Notebook Supply
Warehouse and amazingly they said they would cross-ship me a new one. I've
never been able to get any computer equipment cross-shipped! I was
impressed. I asked if I could pay for overnight shipping so that I could
get it this morning. They said ok, but unfortunately my credit card has
been being used and abused this month so it was declined. But, you won't
believe it, this place, or at least the rep I spoke to, was nice enough to
say that I could just include a check with the defective Omnigo when I send
it back! Cool, huh? So I have a replacement now which seems to work ok.
Has anyone had a similar experience with a defective Omnigo? What about any
experiences with Notebook Supply Warehouse?
