Using batteries

Hello,
These are my experiences with various types of batteries

1. Lithiums: first set lasted 28 days (no SRAM card and no serial
communications). I tried to recharge them. I used 40mA current for 4
days.
Nothing leaked nor exploded and they lasted for 8 days with heavy serial
and SRAM use. After second recharging one ended with 2.0V and other
was 0.7V. I did not try to use them anymore.

2. Alcalines deserted me twice (Maxell and Varta) by dropping voltage
overnight. Serious damage to RAM contents occured despite the fact that
backup battery was reportedly good. Omnigo would not come on without a
kickstart with a paperclip.

3. AccuCell (100 times rechargeable alcalines produced in Germany, rated
1.5V/1000mAh): I have two sets and I recharged then 13 times each. They
last 4-8 days which equals up to 240 minutes of on-time, measured with
Battery Watcher by Markus Groeber (no SRAM, no serial). It seems that
serial connection kills them rapidly with its high current, especialy
because I have communication program on SRAM card which I plug in mostly
for that reason. On other times I keep it out.

I just bought "AccuCell Light" batteries by Mueller, Germany. They are
similar in design but colours are not white/green but white/red.
Rating is also 1.5V/1000mAh but the package says that they are 30
times rechargeable. Price is the same - 75 ATS/pair.
I did not use them yet.

Best regards, Juraj
