If this is true, I would expect the HP picking's at Service Merchandise
to pretty slim for a while. When I used to work with a major
retailer, a competitor pulled a similar stunt with a new line of
printers. They went to the bottom of HP's ship list and had all
stock rebates (to make up for rapidly dropping prices on older items)
suspended for six months.
