Hewlett-Packard's new personal handheld organizer, the
HP OmniGo 120 Organizer Plus

ALAMEDA, CALIF. -Sept. 3, 1996-

Geoworks today announced its GEOS operating system platform is
the foundation for Hewlett-Packard Company's new personal handheld
organizer, the HP OmniGo 120 Organizer Plus.

Development of the HP OmniGo 120 stems from a relationship initiated
between both companies last year to co-develop the award-winning
HP OmniGo 100 organizer. "Given our shared goal for delivering
value to mobile consumers through full-function, portable-computing
devices, Geoworks is pleased to continue its collaboration with
HP by helping enable the newest addition to the HP OmniGo Organizer
Plus line," said Grover Righter, vice president of marketing
at Geoworks. The flexibility of the HP OmniGo 120 Organizer Plus
-- including pen- and keyboard-input capabilities and a rotatable
screen -- was enabled by the GEOS operating system's flexible
user interface, which supports multiple interface designs. The
GEOS graphical user interface also provides a consistent look
and feel between applications. Featuring an open architecture,
GEOS system software also allows users to personalize their HP
OmniGo 120 Organizer Plus devices, expanding desired functionality
by adding complementary applications from independent software
vendors (ISVs).

"Using GEOS software as the foundation, we were able to customize
the HP OmniGo 120 user interface, ultimately differentiating it
from any other product in its category," said Kheng Joo Khaw,
general manager of HP's Asia Pacific PC Division. "Additionally,
its efficient, compact design and open architecture allowed us
to reach the affordable price point we required."

The HP OmniGo 120 combines personal-organization tools -- such
as Intuit's personal finance software Pocket Quicken, database
and spreadsheet capabilities, a calculator, financial-analysis
tools, and contact managers for address, telephone and appointment
information -- with a dramatically enhanced display to aid readability.

In addition to providing GEOS system software for the HP OmniGo
120 Organizer Plus product line, Geoworks also developed two value-added
applications for HP OmniGo users: Clip&Go and HP OmniGo Strategy
Games. Clip&Go enables individuals to seamlessly transfer
data between a desktop computer running Microsoft Windows and
an HP OmniGo device. HP OmniGo Strategy Games, designed to provide
entertainment to professionals on the road, features six challenging
puzzle and card games.

Following its debut in October of 1995, the first member of the
HP OmniGo Organizer Plus line (the HP OmniGo 100) has received
numerous awards from leading publications and tradeshows, including
PCWorld's World Class award, Windows Magazine's Top
100 Hardware award, Mobile Insights'Mobility
award and COMDEX Asia's Product of Show.
