I have discovered that Craig Payne's GDBIO utility contains source code,
much of which can be used to decode the general database format. Additional
files (at least one of which is used by GDBIO) are available in the HPHAND
forum on CompuServe, in the Palmtop Programmers library.

Much of the application-specific database information remains undocumented,
but having an understanding of the general DB format may make it easier to
reverse engineer the rest, or at least the parts in which I'm interested.
