I did manage to get my 14.4k pcmcia modem to dial out using OgCom and
following Mike Halleen's instructions tried to use Unix Mail to download my
email. Unfortunately my ISP has advised that they no longer offer a Unix
shell account so I'll need to change ISP's unless someone has developed a
better approach.
What's confusing is that in the Summer '96 edition of HP OmniGo World in a
review of Wynd Communications wireless email and fax software they say -
"also included with the wireless software is a "dial-up" version of the
software for those times when you are outside the serives of the RAM
network. Using a PC card modem or a standard serial modem, you can use this
software to access your mail through the regular phone system. Once
installed the two programs (wireless and non wireless) consume about 100k of
your OmniGo organzers memory."
Has anyone used Wynd's software? Does it work with a modem? Can one just
buy the "non-wireless" software?
Hoping for some feedback from the group.
