I have also been using the Rayovac alkaline rechargables. I bought them at Revco,
with the charger, for about $19. I switch mine about every other day (simply because
it said on the battery package that the longest life would come if you recharged
them frequently), but I'm sure they could easily go a week or more, and I'm a fairly
heavy user. My unit never gets below about 70% after a couple days' usage. Certainly
a cost-effective alternative to non-rechargable alkalines.
