The Omnigo 100 - a short review

ADVANTAGES
- The 100 is a complete PDA at a bargain price.
- The Grafitti printing recognizer is fast and convenient.
- The PCMCIA slot makes it very expandable.
- The many applications are convenient, capable, and consistent.
- Notes can be attached to persons, appointments, databases.
- Desktop synchronization with the Connectivity Pack is fast & secure;
- Rotateable screen;
- Small (240g), fits in pants or jacket pocket; immediate-on keeps where you are;
- Sturdy; survives drops.

IMPROVEMENTS DESIRED
- battery life (now 2wks-1mon), perhaps a recharging/connection cradle to PC, hydride or lithium rechargable batteries.
- grafitti help beside the screen for punctuation & extended characters;
- integration of appointment book with phone book (i.e. attendees at meetings; appointment history of persons);
- more memory;
- speedier switching between apps;
- somewhat bigger screen;
- ability to light screen in dark situations like theatres, car
- irDa infrared interface for printing, synchronization with my thinkpad;
- compatibility with PC applications for database, spreadsheet data & formulas.
- air miles/km, hours(@550mph) between any two cities on world map;

IDEAL - voice recognition, dictating; thinner/lighter (trifold for bigger screen?); bright screen
