The manual says that the batteries should last up to 5 weeks. I'd
guess that to be the power draw to maintain the memory. So 35%
loss after a week and a half seems about right.
But I havn't even had mine that long... what do I know?
I did just replace my batteries. Replaced the Energizers that the
person who sold it to me left in it with some "Fuji Novel" Alkaline
batteries (for much less $$ than Energizers). Is there any conven-
tional wisdom regarding battery brands? If I buy Energizers, am I
just paying for more bunny adds on TV, and built-in battery testers,
or do people actually get more power out of them? (I'm treating
"Energizer" and "Duracell" as equivalent here). Or am I better off
in the long run buying generic brand Alkaline batteries?
I'm talking here mostly about time per cost. I havn't priced
Lithium batteries. According to the FAQ, they'll give me twice
the time as Alkalines. Do they cost less than twice as much?
Thanks to all who replied to my question about UNIX downloading.
I have ogftp and oginst plus the BSE text editor ready to download...
All I need now is a DB25 to DB9 connector, and I'm all set!
