More AC Adaptor Questions

How will a 3VDC 700mA (2100mW / 2.1w!!!) Adaptor work with the OmniGo??? I
want to know if this will harm my OmniGo in ANY way (will be using a 700mW
modem most of the time). And when making an AC adaptor do I need anythink
else besides the 3-6VDC AC from Radio Shack (got dowel and wire)? Do I
need anything else to hook up to the AC adaptor? Or Can I just cut the
plug off and connect it to my OmniGo's battery terminals?
