Like Warren, I also keep all of my data and apps on a 2MB SRAM PC Card. Since
the Connectivity Pack does not recognize data files kept on a PC Card, I never
purchased the Connectivity Pack.

Like James, I use LapLink V while in "DOS Mode" to back up my OmniGo files (I
already owned a copy)-- it is much faster than backing up using OmniCom
(transmission speeds are faster and you can copy more than one file at once),
and you can control the whole process from your PC.

Here's the basics on how to set up LapLink:

You will need:
LapLink V (or other DOS version of LapLink)
SRAM PC card (or flash card) (automatically recognized by the OmniGo as the C:\
drive)
BMS File Manager for the OmniGo (freeware-from Nathan Fiedler's web site)
OmniSwp (freeware-originally provided on this list in binary form, also on some
web sites)
OmniCom (shareware--to initially install LapLink)

Basic instructions:

1) Install BMS file Manager using the OmniGo installer
2) Move your data files using BMS file manager (including notepad.ndb,
appt.adb, phone.pdb, master.mdb, jotter.000, etc.) from B:\geoworks\document
directory to the C:\geoworks\document directory. Make sure you delete the
files from the B:\ drive after you copy them to the C:\ drive)
3) Reboot by pressing SHIFT+ON+NEXT -- now your files are running off of the PC
card (now your phone book or appointment book files can be virtually unlimited
in size)
4) Install OmniSwp (this will enable you to reach a DOS prompt by rebooting
your OmniGo -- make sure to see old postings or FAQ's for instructions on how
to install)
4) Use OmniCom (or another method such as a portable computer with a PC card
slot) to copy LapLink (LL5.exe) to the root directory of the c:\ drive on the
OmniGo.
5)Reboot by pressing SHIFT+ON+NEXT-- you will now see a DOS prompt
6) Launch Laplink on the OmniGo and on your PC. You will be able to control
your LapLink activity from your PC, so don't worry about the fact that you
can't see the whole screen at the same time on your OmniGo). If you are
familiar with using LapLink, you will instantly see that you're connected to
the OmniGo, and you can then copy your c:\geoworks\document directory (or
anything else on your PC card) to a directory on your hard disk. When you back
up at a later date, LapLink lets you "synchronize" directories -- so only files
that have changed will be re-copied on your hard disk.
7) Exit LapLink on your Ogo and your PC.
8) Return to GEOS (I use a batch file called geos.bat which automatically
uninstalls OmniSwp then loads GEOS) and continue working.

Sorry about the long post, but I wanted to share my successful setup with
others.
