STG 2MB sram cards

I just purchased an STG 2MB sram card (for $79) and I'm having a small problem with it. The first time I inserted the card, the OG said it needed to format it. Fine, it formatted it with no errors. I copied some stuff to the card using the transfer utility. No problem. When I turn the OG off and then back on, it says that the card needs to be formatted again. This also happens when I remove the card and re-instert it. I've tested the sram card on my 200lx and it does not exhibit this behavior with that unit. I have a new battery in the sram card.

Anyone else have similar experiences? I thought any sram card would work with the og.
