I knew something was wrong when I turned on my 100LX and I could read the screen! That's when I realized I was simply never going to be willing to deal with this contrast limitation, and I'd might as well return the unit before the 30 days were up.
I think the next breakthrough is going to have to be backlit screens. At least have the option of backlighting them when you are using an AC adaptor until they figure out how to keep the battery life going when you're using the batteries.
