<<<I saw in the brochure a picture of a magazine talking about doing "macros" of up to 20 chars with Graffiti (specifically, a macro using two strokes or some such...), how do we do this? Is it just a matter of copy & paste? If so, why is the clipboard so small (250 chars...)?>>>
The "macros" Logical referred to are called ShortCuts by the the makers of Graffiti and ARE available on the OmniGo 100 but are not mentioned anywhere in the Users Reference.
Here are some of instructions for ShortCuts from page 27 of the Graffiti manual:
------------start of instructions ------------------------
Graffiti's ShortCuts make it quick and convenient to enter commonly used words or phrases. This is similar to the Glossary or Autotext features of some word processors.
Up to 250 characters may be assigned to a ShortCut. For example, you might create a ShortCut with your complete name and address.
TO ASSIGN A SHORTCUT:
Draw the ShortCut stroke. (It looks like the Graffiti symbol for * rotated counterclockwise 45 degrees) [GWSteve can probably describe the stroke better than this :)]
Draw the stroke for the left curly bracket.
Draw the characters you want to use to activate the ShortCut. You may use up to eight characters, upper- or lower-case, and ShortCuts are case sensitive.
Draw the stroke for a colon.
Write the text that you want associated with the ShortCut. You may write up to 250 characters, and may include any characters, numbers, or carriage returns.
Draw the stroke for a right curly bracket.
This completes the ShortCut. After a moment, the ShortCut text will replace the strokes you just entered. This indicates that your ShortCut was entered successfully.
TO USE A SHORTCUT:
Draw the ShortCut stroke. (It looks like the Graffiti symbol for * rotated counterclockwise 45 degrees)
Write the characters that activate the shortcut.
The assigned text appears on the screen, and you have saved yourself a lot of time.
TO DISPLAY A LIST OF SHORCUTS:
Draw the ShortCut stroke. (It looks like the Graffiti symbol for * rotated counterclockwise 45 degrees)
Draw the strokes for the left curly bracket, the colon, and then right curly bracket.
A list of all names will appear on the screen.
------------end of instructions ------------------------
Now the question is, where is the file that saves all my OmniGo ShortCuts so I can back it up?
Graffiti on the Zoomer placed it in the file GRAFFITI.MCR in PRIVDATA/HWR, but where is it on the OmniGo?
