RE: High Cost/App Memory

To find out how much memory each file takes up AND to have a low cost backup option. Try Ferras' omnicom program. It runs from your PC (DOS) and will list files on the OGo as well as transfer them to your PC. It can restore them to the OGo, too. A great program!

For backup purposes you can create a file with Omnicom commands in it. Then create a batch file running Omnicom and taking the file as input.

You will probably want to upload all the files in:

b:\geoworks\document (The built in RAM in the OGo)
AND
c:\geoworks\document (The PCMCIA card - if you have one)

All other files (programs and system files) can be restored by reseting the OGo and then reinstalling any add-on packages you have.
All you do then is download all your saved data, and your back in business.

(You may have to remove empty data files before you restore yours. These will get created after a reset if you run the apps. )
