The zoomer-list mailing list has been closed and replaced by a new mailing
list on a new mailing list host! Sorry about the short notice, but my old
mailing list host (best.com) made some significant changes to its mailing
list interface, and I had been working with a new host (pobox.com) anyway,
so it seemed like an opportune time to make the switch.

I'll follow this message with the general "info" file for the new mailing
list, but here's what you really need to know. Please read and save this
message at least:

Your subscription
-----------------
You have been removed from zoomer-list and/or zoomer-list-digest and you
have been added to pen-geos and/or pen-geos-digest. There's nothing you
need to do about this.

The new mailing list host
-------------------------
The new mailing list host is pobox.com, but messages should appear to have
come from lists.grot.com. This is normal, and in fact, desired. The mailing
list processor is majordomo, same as before, so there are no new commands
or procedures that you need to learn.

To post a message
-----------------
If you want to post a message to pen-geos, send your message to

pen-geos@lists.grot.com

and it will be forwarded to all of the subscribers of pen-geos and added to
the digests that are sent to subscribers of pen-geos-digest.

To unsubscribe from the list
----------------------------
If you want to unsubscribe, send mail to majordomo@lists.grot.com and put
one of the following commands in the body of your message, depending on
whether you are subscribed to the normal or digest list:

unsubscribe pen-geos

unsubscribe pen-geos-digest

Where are the archives?
-----------------------
Similar to the zoomer-list, you'll find compressed plain text archives
in ftp://ftp.grot.com/pen-geos/ and searchable hypertext archives in
http://www.grot.com/pen-geos/mailing-lists/.

How is this different from zoomer-list? What about ogo?
-------------------------------------------------------
Pen-geos is intended to be a forum for discussion of platforms, software,
accessories, or anything else having to do with pen-GEOS-based products.
Such products include the Casio/Tandy/AST "Zoomer", Sharp PT-9000 "Bullet",
HP OmniGo 100, Hyundai Gulliver, and even pen-based notebook and
sub-notebook computers running GEOS.

Many of you know that there is another mailing list available called "ogo".
Ogo is a discussion forum for the OmniGo 100. I don't manage that list (but
I do archive it on my WWW site). For more information about that list, send
mail to majordomo@lifelike.com and put

info ogo

in the body of the message.

Questions? Problems? Comments?
------------------------------
Send them to owner-pen-geos@lists.grot.com.
