<<<My guess is that I have no use of the AOL software and
could use the space for other applications. So my question
is: is there any way to remove these files (and some of the
USA specific info files)?
A related question is: Is there any non-aol e-mail or other
internet software for the pda?

The AOL software is built into the ROM-mask that is installed in the Z-7000.
It isn't possible to delete it. All of the programs that you see as default
on the Zoomer are on the same mask. They don't take up any space in RAM,
unless you run them (thus generating a State file). They also have the no
delete condition..
There are many WEB sites with Zoomer data and files.. Keep plugging..
