If you are speaking of PC to Zoomer file transfer, there is an embedded function
dedicated to that in the GeoManager; it is called "file transfer".
There is also a function dedicated to a peer to peer communication between a
Zoomer and another Geos-based device : it is called "file linking".

The protocol used in both cases is PCCOM, which stands also for the program
name used inside Geos for the "file transfer" feature.
You will find find a short description in my Zoomer page :
http://web.ensem.u-nancy.fr/~pdallema/ZOOMER.HTM#PCCOM

If you want to use "file transfer" between a Zoomer and a machine wich does not
include Geos (Ensemble or New Deal Office) you may download the ZDOS program
or the ZCOMLITE bundle for a PC :
ftp://ftp.biostat.washington.edu/pub/zoomer/
or some other com software for a Macintosh (not tried) :
ftp://ftp.biostat.washington.edu/pub/zoomer/Mac

If you want some on-line communication packages, you may use the AOL client
embedded in the Zoomer or the Bullet (also for AOL) or the Compuserve Client
(available on Compuserve) or other comm programs for Geos (GeoComm ?...).
Each of them may use different protocols, I don't know precisely.

I hope it helps.

Philippe.
