Yes. Those were written for a computer virtually unlimitted swap space,
before the Zoomer existed.

To convert Addressbook to NewDex, you'd need Intellilink for the Zoomer to
convert the files to CSV format, then you'd have to map the fields as you
import, which don't match up exactly with the fields in NewDex.
For the other PIMs, I don't know any way to convert them. If you can find a
copy of Palm Connect, it contains desktop versions of the Addressbook,
Calendar, and Notebook that will use the files without conversion.
