Thanks for the suggestion, Don. I did try that, as mentioned in my
original post: "tried booting from both msdos 6.2 and drdos 6.0." Both
DOSs worked fine on the old motherboard, and DR DOS (which is what - 5
years old now?) was my best hope since (unlike M$) they made an effort to
serve the Geos market.

I'm not sure what you mean here. Maybe you're talking about going to DOS
from w95? In any event, unless there's an updated link driver (is it part
of the FileManager code?) I'm probably out of luck.
My guess is that the problem's due to the new motherboard's fast serial
ports not being supported by the driver I have. Odd, since the Geocomm and
mouse drivers both work fine on the new ports, and those must be *really*
old drivers.
So aside from buying a cheapo serial card, the solution without a new link
driver will probably be to find a file transfer program. I'll post a query
on that in the next message.
