I don't want to run the Palm apps under Geoworks, so that was not a concern. I did want the Palm apps to use the normal Geoworks environment.
What I wound up with was a \PALMCONN directory with just the critical files in it, with the GEOS.INI modified to pick up fonts and system files from the \GEOS20 directory. It works great, and saves disk space.
The downside: the PalmConnect Preferences tool will *not* work under Geoworks 2.0, but the Geoworks Preferences tool will work under PalmConnect (go figure :-). So you wind up with a weird Preferences manager with some things (like modem settings) in it twice. A little confusing, but not a show stopper.
The upside: PalmConnect uses the Geoworks 2.0 fonts, which *are not* the same as the ones in PalmConnect. The PalmConnect fonts are slightly taller, and *do not* match the fonts on the Zoomer. If you create a sketch page with ink aligned with the text (I do this a lot, sketching something and annotating with text) and view it in PalmConnect, the ink and text will no longer be aligned. If you run PalmConnect with the Geoworks fonts, things line up! Bottom line: PalmConnect uses one font set, Geoworks 2.0 and the Zoomer use another.
The batch file that creates \MINIPALM is on my SPARCstation at work. I'll try to upload it tomorrow, so people can try it out.
