On the other hand, battery life is not quite the problem it was, now that the new high energy lithium batteries are available. I find a set last a month in my Z-PDA even though I use it constnatly and have a Sundisk card installed. They cost more, but I think they are worth it compared to normal AAs. They also give better performance in the Z-PDA. The reason it slows down is drop-off of voltage in the batteries. Normal AAs drp off rather quickly and then run at less than the rated 1.5 volts for some time. The Lithiums have a different power curve. They stay at 1.5 volts for most of their life, so the Z-PDA runs at its full speed (which is slow enough!) for most of the month.
