If your handy, Ohm out each lead end to end first, then even if you cut the cable and the leads are not color coded you will know where they go. I realize that the Zoomer end is small, but with a good set of probes it is possible. Hope this helps.

P.S. I have been considering cutting off the D25 end and crimping on a RJ45 (8 pin modular phone type plug), this would allow me to change between 9 and 25 pin and DCE/DTE interfaces easily. Radio Shack sells 9 or 25 pin to RJ 45 kits for about 5 bucks.
