Manufacturers always sell their products to the public at the full "suggested retail price" even though you can go to a retailer and never pay full price. If they sold products at a discount, they risk upsetting (and that's putting it mildly) their retailers. About the only exception to this rule is when it comes to upgrades of some kind. Then you can often get it cheaper directly from the manufacturer.
That's why Casio sells a $30 cable for $60.
