PPI Modem and Zoomer Help!

I have a Zoomer here as well as the HP and have tried to use the Pocket 14.4 with it and it will not sign on with the standard AOL init. It dials and than hangs up after getting the modem tones, than tells me after trying both numbers it cannot connect to AOL at this time. Tried it 3 times tonight and than tried my MultiTech MT932BA and it connected fine. Anybody have a PPI Pocket 14.4 modem that they are using with AOL on the Zoomer?
