The Zoomer AOL version is limited to certain online areas... I imagine the "mess" you've seen is what happens when you try to go beyond those areas.
I personally am pushing my contact to get the Zoomer opened to more online areas - including the PDA Forum. I too would like to see the Zoomer able to take advantage of all AOL's features. Hopefully it will happen. I'll keep everyone posted.
