Maybe I don't understand 'embedded', but the zoomer will communicate in a 'direct connect' mode similar to procomm. I have only used 1.0 and 2.0/2.1 for Windows, but you can do some rudimentary control via a null modem cable and ZDOS. Unless you are a cable builder, I recommend that you buy the serial cable ($15 at RS) and a null modem adapter and give it a shot.
