Two XL7000's can use the IR to transmit data back and forth. The infrared
can also be used for switching eletronic remote control frequencies.
Software for the XL7000 will be available to do this.
The reason the XL7000 does not come with a built-in modem is so people who do
not want it don't have to pay for it. Marketing's philosophy is to keep the
unit basic and let the accessories be available to all. (For example, not
everyone wants to buy a car fully loaded.)
To buy or wait, that is the everpresent question these days-- should I buy a
386, or a 486 or wait for the pentium--the same applies to PDA's. Since the
XL7000 is so new, any plans for future ones are sketchy.
GeoWorks apps probably will have to be adapted to the smaller screen size.
As suggested, go to keyword GeoWorks and they will help. Subj: Pen Expo Bill
