No, you don't need a Mac and SoftPC to make it run. As Joe and Jeff said, it seems likely that your d/l was damaged.

You haven't answered our question - was the automatic decompression option on the AOL software checked? This *may* have damaged the file by trying to decompress it.

At any rate, please try the download again, or send me your address via Email and I'll snail mail you a disk.
