I've read most of the discussions here, and I'm still left with a number of questions. Perhaps someone here could answer a few. If so, aTdHvAaNnKcSe.
1) I read somewhere that you can't get here from the version of AOL in the Zoomer. This seems completely ludicrous -- could it possibly be true? What other limitations are there on AOL access from the Zoomer, assuming I have a 2MB PCMCIA RAM card for download space? (Obviously CHATting would be pretty useless, given the bandwidth limitations on input.) Can it handle 9600 bps?
2) There seems to be a disturbing paucity of shareware in the library here. I'd think that the minimum stuff would be a text viewer (like VR), a text-based comm program, an IR remote control program, a spreadsheet, more games, etc. Why is it taking so long to get this software? Will it ever show up, or would buying a Zoomer be a dead-end purchase? (How many Zoomers have been sold, and are Casio/Tandy solidly behind the machine still?)
3) What's the current best place to buy, and how much should I expect to pay?
4) When I first began to look into PDAs a few months ago, the major players were Apple/Sharp, Casio/Tandy, and Amstrad. Anything better rumored to be right around the bend, and will it be enough better to warrant waiting? (My priorities are, in no particular order, PIM stuff -- scheduling, addresses, expenses -- and email access, but access to a dictionary and thesaurus as in Zoomer would be pretty nice, too.)
