Re: Zoomer User Befuddled by Stacker

Fellow befuddled user,

I used the following changes to make my EduCalc 5mb card work.

Changes described assume an unenhanced zoomer. If you've already
enhanced yours (by changing autoexec, config.sys, etc.) presumably
you can handle integrating these suggestions into your changes.

1) You must boot from the 'B:' drive and your b:\config.sys file
should contain the line:
device=c:\stacker.drv /p=0 c:

2) You also need to add the line:

shell=a:\command.com /p

just because you're booting from drive 'b' (see zoomer FAQs on this and
other changes needed for booting from b:).

After making these changes, reset your unit (soft reset, not hard) and
when you bring up the File Manager, it should tell you that drive C
has about 9.8mb and is labelled 'stacvol_dsk'.

I also get a drive 'e' on my drive list now and occasional messages
about attempts to access an unformatted drive (which I think is related
to this unwanted 'e' drive). My 'c' drive works fine, though a bit slow
compared to the SRAM card I used before.

Hope this helps. I don't know Stacker, so I can't tell you what the
parameters on the stacker.drv line do.

Anyone has any suggestions on how to deal with the 'e' drive?
