Well, how exactly are you running it now? Probably double-tapping the
program's icon. How would you like to run Lector? If you put it in
/geoworks/world (or a subdirectory thereof) , then you can run it from the
express menu (or a sub-menu of the express menu).

The editor in AOL is a text editor. Use it to mangle the files in
question.

See the little recessed button inside the battery cover? Poke it with a
paper clip & your Zoomer will do a SOFT reset. (This procedure is also
handy when the Zoomer locks up.) If you poke that button while holding
down the A and B buttons, then you will do a HARD reset and you will loose
everything in internal storage.

(Gheesh, isn't this in the user's manual?)

So, don't try them until you're more comfortable with your Zoomer
environment.

Those of us who create Tips & Tricks do the best that we can. I've
noticed that after suggestions are passed down twenty times, some of the
details degenerate.

In reality, the usefulness most of the modifications is subjective. All
have tradeoffs. The Tandy/Casio folks made some assumptions about what
would be 'best' and most safe for the user. Any variation from this is at
your own risk. I've tried most of the modifications out there (and
created a few myself), and have settled on a set that allows my Zoomer to
be reasonably stable and most functional for me. I certainly encourage
folks to share there experiences with the Zoomer (included their mods),
but I have the final responsibility for the safety of my data and the
usability of my Zoomer.

The Zoomer environment wasn't designed to be easily expansible. I don't
know of any easy way to describe how to do each mod. (Especially because
one modification will impact how others must be installed.)

Or, you could use those free 10 hours on AOL to look at their Palmtop
support area. Their tips & tricks section covers most everything that you
want. (I personally think that the FAQ is in pretty good condition, am so
glad that it exists, and appreciate the work of the people who have
assembled it.)

I hear your frustration. I hope that your effort in creating a Zoomer-doc
that is more comprehensible to you will ease the frustration of others.
