Another good reason why NOT to use NiCads is that the nominal voltage of a
NiCad AA is 1.20V versus 1.55V for an equivalent alkaline. Thus, 3 in series
yields only 3.60V best case versus 4.65V for 3 fresh alkalines. At 3.60V the
power manager's trigger finger probably gets real itchy.
