Re: Geos 2.01 apps and the Zoomer...

OK, a lot of people asked me about what files you need. You need, of
course, the actual file you wish to run (ie., GeoWrite is WRITE.GEO)
along with its associated library file(s). To find out which ones your
app needs (I forgot, sorry) just view the first 1K or so of the file and
there it will be. I ran dosshell, selected WRITE.GEO (GeoWrite) and
pressed [F9] to view the file contents. You have to scroll down a little
to see it all. The Zoomer already has some of the library files on it.
The library files also are in C:\GEOS20\SYSTEM on my PC and
B:\GEOWORKS\SYSTEM on my Zoomer. You will also need to increase the max
system heap space in the geos.ini file on your zoomer. Its default value
is 18000 and it needs to be about 64000, what ChrisD's excellent FAQ
recommends.

This whole process takes about an hour and be sure to have about 2 megs
of free space on your RAM card if you want all the apps on there! I
personally use clock, calculator (scientific with RPN enabled), and
GeoWrite the most, and GeoComm whenever I need to check my VT100'd E-mail
on the go. Since ZCommPro is vaporware and you probably haven't
discovered the awesome comm prog in PenRight! for the Zoomer ($65 from
Casio), GeoComm works well. It also has XModem file xfer for all those
Zoomer games you ftp from the 'net.
