What you are seeing is the scheduler's alarm geod being picked-up at
startup. An application would need to be written to use a Zoomer as a Real
Alarm Clock. But, the Appointment book can be used as a short one (but the
alarm isn't very loud.)
Also, Palm Utilties provides a pop-up alarm clock (again not overly loud
[to save battery life]) that can be 'snoozed'.
