Casio probably won't be offering a ROM upgrade for the existing
Zoomers. I was interested in the possibility of doing it but tearing
into existing Zoomers to replace the ROM board is not safe and easy.

If you were to open your Zoomer (DON'T DO THIS IF YOU WANT A FUNCTIONAL
ZOOMER - I'm looking at one that was sacrificed on purpose ;-), you'll
see that there is a separate daughter board that contains the RAM and
ROM that could be removed and replaced. The whole unit would have to
be opened up and the mother board removed to get to it. Since it is
not a simple procedure it is something that would probably have to be
done by Casio. Since the board contains RAM as well, the cost in parts
is higher, and the cost to have Casio do it would probably be
prohibitive.

Perhaps I'm dumb, but I can't make my Zoomer give me the little
set of beeps when an event alarm in the datebook goes off, without also
having clicks when I tap things.

I tried the

[motifOptions]
clickSounds = false

thing, but that seemed to do the same thing as setting sound off
in Preferences (which also axes the cute little beeps when the datebook
pops)

Clues for the clueless, anyone?
