Capacity Application Limits
These are the current limits defined for the Palm applications on
all platforms (variation as noted). While these are the programmatic
limits, the true capacity limitation is the actual memory available
to run/store the application data files.
PalmSchedule Date Book limits
- Earliest Date: 1/1/1900
- Latest Date: 12/31/2050
- Earliest Alarm: 99 days prior to event
- Max Repeats of an event: 999 or "forever" -- can show event
everyday from start date until 12/31/2050.
- Max To Do list items: No limit to number of items, but beyond
a limit they won't display. Field capacity limit is 30K bytes
(incl. ink strokes, text, overhead) or 1000 points of ink.
Calculator limits
- Calculation Precision: 13 significant digits either side of decimal
- Max. Digits Displayed = 12 sig. digits total(e.g.: 123456789012.
or 123.123456789 or 0.12345678912)
- Max, entries on tape display = 100 lines (then deletes in
10-line increments FIFO)
PalmNotes Notebook Limits
- Max. number of Pages (per Notebook): 600 pages
- Max. number of Notebooks: Constrained only by memory
- Max levels of indentation/grouping: 1 sub level
- Max capacity per page: About 170 text lines (U.S. model) /130
lines (Int'l model) plus 4000 points of ink..
PalmAddress AddressBook
- Max. number of Entries per Book Constrained only by memory
- Max. number of Address Books Constrained only by memory
- Max capacity per Field 30K bytes. Implies about 170 text
lines (U.S. model) /130 lines (Int'l model). See technote on
"Ink vs. Text".
- Max number of records imported into PalmAddress: Constrained
only by memory
- Max data per imported record: Total bytes of imported data
for all fields EXCEPT the Sketch Page, per record, is 30Kbytes.
The Sketch Page may contain another 30Kbytes per record.
Form Calculator
- Precision same as Calculator
- Digits Displayed <= 15: Varies per field/form
