"Normal" bug-reports or a virus???????????
I was just testing a new (buggy) program that caused a crash under
NewDeal Office 2.5. Result was the normal error-box (Press "E" to exit).
After pressing "E", the box contained this:
<Quote on>
I'm so confused
Press Enter to continue
<Quote off>
Since I never noticed this before I grap a pen and wrote it down...
while NewDeal exited with a <KR-35> - even though I didn't press
"Enter" !?!?!?!
Another thing happening when my program crashes (or other ones, the
Icon Editor,e.g.) is that 3 letters are displayed in the upper left corner
of the screen: First row: S; second row: P, third row: r.
Sometimes they are coloured.
I don't know what this means. Maybe it's the beginning of three
words/sentences?!
Is this normal? The first strange thing happend when my program only
contained one string: "NoisY". Otherwise the system-box is AFAIK a
normal redirected string-output, so this could be the output of a
dos-program (virus?), too. Otherwise this could be a new standard
error-message of Geos 2.1. Or a virus running under Geos?
I know that this is a bit off-topic, but
a) only developpers know enough about the system to help me
b) posting to comp.os.geos might cause a panic
Confused
Joerg
P.S.: When updating from Ensemble to NewDeal, don't copy your Ensemble-
tokenDatabase into NewDeal... otherwise the printer control panel will
display "Geo*" instead of "New*" as the printing application.
(If you've done this -like me- use TokenDeleter to get rid of all Icons
with a TokenID=0. Afterwards enter NewManager, enter the world-directory
and wait for NewDeal to install the new "NewIcons".)
