I'm not sure what a "j-mouse" is, but there may be another option in
addition to what Steve has already suggested: if there is a DOS-based TSR
mouse driver available for the pointing device you are using with your
notebook, try loading it before running Geos and using the "Generic" or "No
idea" options, which should make Geos use whatever device is driven by that
TSR.
There is another driver called "Absolute Generic" which does the same for
stylus-like devices. For example, I'm using this driver successfully with
the pen input of an NCR 3125 notepad.
