As has been stated before this information is readily available (and is 5
months old). at http://fcext3.external.hp.com:80/pressrel/nov95/08nov95b.html
I hate to waste the bandwidth on the following clip but a lot more seems
to be being spent by not.

HP Discovers Defect In Some OmniGoComputers

Palo Alto, California. November 8, 1995

Hewlett-Packard Company today said that it has discovered a manufacturing
defect in early units of its HP OmniGo 100 handheld organizers, announced
on Oct. 16. Under certain circumstances, information may be lost
when batteries are changed in the unit.

The problem has been isolated to approximately 1,900 units in the U.S.
retail channel, and HP believes that about
500 U.S-based customers may be affected. No organizers on dealers'
shelves today have this problem. Owners
of HP OmniGo 100 units that bear serial numbers lower than SG54402000
are asked to call HP's North American Service Center at (541) 715-2004 or
fax (541) 715-5488 (Corvallis, Ore.), Monday through Friday
from 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., PST (excluding holidays) to arrange for a
replacement unit.
